Coincidence or plain unlucky

We set off for our field exercise at 0830 and i was kinda looking forward to the jungle training. Being a signal trooper for my officer wasn't easy but at least i get to learn something.

We reached camp and immediately got to work, digging our trenches and firehole and setting up our communication with the rest of the platoon. Everything was done and we were ready for our exercise until my officer instructed me to get a shovel for him. While i was walking towards the shovel 5 meters away from camp a deadfall (branch) snapped and fell on me hitting me on the head. The deadfall was bigger then me and i was shocked. I felt giddy and a big ringing sound kept going on and on in my head. I sat down and my officer called for the medic. There was no cuts but a huge bruise on the left side on my head left me screaming. The medic then called for the medical officers to take me to the medic tent for further observation.

Once i got there, medics were checking my blood pressure, taking my blood examination and checking my head. I was giddy and had no idea what was going on at that point of time. The medical officer couldn't do much thus he instructed for an ambulance to rush me to Nee Soon medical center and if they couldn't do much either, i would have to be sent to Tan Tock Seng. Just as i expected, the officer at Nee Soon Medical Center sent me to Tan Tock Seng. I was observed overnight and was given 3 days MC.

I'm just glad nothing happened to me as i could have been killed if the deadfall got me on the other parts of my body. I wonder if this is plain unlucky or just a mere coinsidence...
